Shaiful's Wedding - 12th Jun 2005 - Shah Alam

Another wedding.
It is Shaiful's, a friend from the Felcra (now Enigma) hockey team
the whole team was there, with their sticks and all (not!)
pink shirt is in!
berbual dengan pakcik dan makcik satu meja.
the usual stuff, dari mana? kawan shaiful ke?
and later I found that they are my ex English teacher's parent from school
Sharifah Nor Azam or Sherry, as we all call, love and know her
she was my mentor for 3 years
she makes the best cheese cakes ever! :)
just to share some notable quotes from uncle,
which by the way is 74 years old (but still going strong),
not totally the exact words though
(note : read in Utara slang)

" u umur 24, uncle 74. lama tau nak 24 nak sampai 74.
kereta nak sampai 10 tahun pun susah.
sampai masa servis kena servis. jangan tekan minyak kuat-kuat2.
sama la macam badan. jaga kesihatan, jangan hisap rokok.
badan ni dia masuk 40 tahun mula la. brake suma tak makan... "

" kita hidup ni kena ada plan. step one nak ada degree.
2nd step carik kerja. 3rd step kahwin. 4th step beli kereta dan rumah.
5th step settle down and raise a family... "

" carik tanah, buat rumah. jauh-jauh sikit pun takpa.
tanah 40 ribu, rumah 60 ribu pun dah cukup.
ini beli rumah teres dekat 200 ribu, tapi sempit. nak bergerak pun tak boleh.
25 years ago uncle beli rumah kat Shah Alam ni, suma kawan-kawan dengan family
kata apa duduk sini. takda apa, pokok getah ja. sekarang tengok ..."

" kerja ni bukan main-main. kalau kita rasa kita tak boleh commit dan
berkhidmat pada company, baik kita resign. The most important things in work are
honesty, integrity and common sense. If you ask me again, I say
honesty, integrity and common sense. If you ask me again, I still say
honesty, integrity and common sense... "

Good company. Good food. Good conversation.

Guns of Memorial Park

Hi people.
The title of this post is just a sort-of tribute to Sparta.
As you guys might remember, Sparta's Porcelain is in my Best Album of 2004 list.
Paul Hinojos is leaving the band and will be joining The Mars Volta.
He will be doing his part as "off-stage sound manipulator."
Whatever that is.
From one of the most inventive guitarist of modern times to sound manipulator?
Read the comments here.
Ahh...

" Passing keeper! "

First thing first.
Today is my 24th birthday.
How time flies. Fast.
When you got a great girl as a companion and a best friend,
it is the best present ever.

Malaysia lost again in the Azlan Shah Cup tie yesterday.
This time Malaysia went down 3-1 to New Zealand.
4th place? More of a 6th place. That's realistic.
Went to watch it live but got only little to shout about.
No credible centre half and no dedicated forwards.
No Keevan and no Tajol.
But Azlan Misron is good. Good hits and good passings even in the tightest of spaces.
One thing that pissed me off about the so-called Malaysian spectators is that they don't understand the game but trying very hard to show that they do.
(Another whining alert here)
There was this guy a couple of rows in front of me keep shouting "Passing keeper!" to the players when they did back or square passes.
All the forwards are marked already and the only avaiable is to go back or square to shift play.
Ingat main hoki ni macam lumba F1 ke? Nak ke depan je.
Arghh... sengal.
You are not supporting la brader.
When he shouted a passing-keeper, I shouted back.
Don't know if he heard it or not.
Know-it-all-guy : Passing keeper!
Me : Abis semua dah kena mark. Nak passing mana lagi?!
Know-it-all-guy : Passing keeper!
Me : Dia tau la apa dia buat. Dia main Malaysia!
Know-it-all-guy : Passing keeper!
Me : Kan Kuhan nak flick tu. Sampai gak depan kan?!
Ceh, macam budak-budak.
A great game between Pakistan and India though.
For a moment there I thought I was in Karachi.
Anyhoo, good luck to Malaysia for the last game against Pakistan tomorrow.
Ha, passing keeper!

Alive and kicking

Hi people.
As usual, sorry for the lack of updates.
I am very much consumed with the workloads.
By the way, currently the project is in the User Test phase.
Lots of things are happening around me but then again I think I have forgotten much of them.
So nothing much to write I guess.
Finally watched Star Wars Episode III : Revenge of The Sith yesterday with Rina.
Either you watch it on opening day or you watch it a week after.
Review? You all have yours.
Of course, Maddox always gives the best review.

Nak beli berapa tiket? Takpe, saya belikan.
Popcorn nak sekali?
Ceh, sengal.
