Urusan Seri Paduka Baginda

It's comfirmed! Finally, Butterfingers' new full malay album Selamat Tinggal Dunia... will be invading record stores this 14th December according to some very believable sources after very much delays and problems. The long awaited and most anticipated release from the band will have 10 songs. I do have some samples of the new songs (about 30 seconds of unmastered tracks) which i got some time ago. Believe me, there are all gooood.... They have played some of the new songs at gigs and most noticeably at the last Rock The World 4 with Tentang Tentang as the closing track. But Butterfingers is not the same without Emmett though, *sigh... By the way, the official track listing is as follows :

1. Nyilu (Hidup makan tidur mati muzik)
2. Daulat Tuanku
3. Cuai
4. Urusan Seri Paduka Baginda
5. Selamat Tinggal Dunia
6. Kabus Ribut
7. Merpati Sejoli
8. Hanyut
9. Taman Tasik Perdana
10.Tentang Tentang

There are also 4 other songs that didn't make the final cut which rumoured to be included in an 'anthology' album some time in the future. The songs are :

1. Pancasona
2. Siaran Tergendala
3. Kuku Besi
4. Hari Raya di Kuala Lumpur

Hari Raya di Kuala Lumpur was actually have being played exclusively on Xfresh FM during the last Raya period. If you lucky enough to catch it that is. Classic rock n roll with lyrics like "tak payah bangun sahur...boleh terus tidur" or something like that. So don't expect your typical malay rock kangkang type of music and lyrics in Selamat Tinggal Dunia...

For all eager fans out there, this is the lyrics of Tentang Tentang (sing to the tune of Gelang Si Paku Gelang). Doesn't all these make u excited? I know I am.

buka radio di pagi hari
malam hari sama sahaja
cinta sana cinta sini
aku gila geli
buka radio omputih
propaganda amerika
ape benda yang merdeka
jilat bontot depa
ape benda yang merdeka
bila kawan ramai
............
cakap besar tunjuk belang
tapi bila sorang-sorang
pengecut pemalu
macam semua orang
saya ni bukan sempurna
tapi saya tahu
dosa dan pahala
ku tuhan sahaja yang tahu
gelang si paku gelang
gelang si rama-rama
tentang marilah tentang
bersama-sama..

Post-Raya

I am sorry that I lied. I didn’t post anything during the holidays. Believe me, I tried. I guess I was caught up watching all those interesting Malay movies on TV. Kuliah Cinta, Hingga Hujung Nyawa, Mistik and others. Don’t you just love our Malay movies? By the way, do yourself a favour and go watch the movie No Problem starring Opie Zami, Maya Karin, Danny X-Factor. That movie is ‘the bomb’. The best Malay movie ever in my opinion. Any interesting Hari Raya stories and happenings? Raya was ok, as usual. The food was great. Lots of traveling here and there, near and far to friends and relatives that mostly that I didn’t even know of. The highest point : ketupat and kuah kacang.

Looking forward to start training again with the Felcra hockey team. We just missed out and ran out of luck last season. A draw from the last game of last season would secure a semi final spot for us. But we lost 1-0 to Maxis. Got to train harder this season, if I make the cut that is. The new Puma turf shoe is tempting indeed.

These are some pictures from my colleagues’ wedding some months back, Mat Yo and Is. Only just got the pictures. They are my classmates from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Congratulations to them.

Mat Yo was once the stand-in vocalist for our jamming sessions a few years back at Kuantan. He was a very good Zack de La Rocha's ripp-off. All the rappings and shoutings with a twist of Kelantanese slang

Rina in kebaya : rocks!

Aildilfitri 2004

Today is the last day of work before the Deepavali/Hari Raya holidays. Coincidently, today is also my last day of work according to my current contract terms. Not doing any single real productive work since morning. Really a bad idea for my performance review for at least a contract renewal, let alone a permanent position offer. But then again, can't do much work anyway in this jolly festive period and mood doesn't it? I will try my best to post during my holidays with my trusty old MMX 200Mhz pc. Not much, but it does the job.

Until then, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir Dan Batin to all of you readers out there (which i presumed about 5 of you).

Same 'ol same 'ol

This is the 2nd post since the day I created this blog. 2 posts in nearly 3 months, wow that is really a big achievement. Now come to think of it, what is actually the purpose of this thing in the first place? I guess it is the product of total boredom. Office seems to be a lot quieter these days. Can't seems to find new good bands to download. Winamp's playlist is either Pinback or Jack Johnson or Kings of Convenience. Laid back tunes for laid back days.

Anyhow, what's happening?
- went back home last weekend : family value always a good value
- doing some shopping with my gf and got some stuff, although not the from the wishlist but hey, hanging out with her is 'the' stuff
- caught up with some urgent works regarding a new government client
- still obsessed with onitsuka tiger, damn you..you lucky japs!
- Tohsio and Kayako
- fish head curry + bean sprout uptown
- lots of same 'ol same 'ol

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

  • " SETIAP HARI HATI BERBUNGA..." Typical male that whines a lot. Most likely to be found struggling to deliver a solid grounder cross from the right side at the KLHA Pantai Stadium every Saturday night. Char Kue Teow at Mali's Corner is the best. Prefers British bands.
